Boliqueime is small but fashionable village set in the hillsides of Southern Loulé about 8km’s inland from the coast.

It is traditionally Portuguese, but with a cosmopolitan feel. The population of 4,473 is made up mainly of Portuguese, but has become a very popular destination for English and Dutch expats, and has a large community of both.

Its popularity has derived from its central positioning relative to the major coastal tourist spots, with Vilamoura being a 5 minute drive to the East and Albufiera being a 5 minutes drive to the West. The main motorway running the full length of the Algarve, the IP1, is just a couple of minutes drive away.
